Arrogance vs. Accountability

The time is NOW.  The craziness has gone over the edge of reason.  We have Harry Reid, Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate, stating that he had “nothing to do with” the terrible economy.  Yet he’s been in charge of the massive spending bills, the disturbingly confusing and expensive health care bill, and the frightfully unknown financial regulation bill that does nothing to regulate some of the worst offenders.  Harry denies any accountability for these actions.

Here at home, we have North Idaho College raising not just our regular taxes, which is bad enough, but last year they added Foregone taxes too, which will continue to cost everyone in Kootenai County significantly more year after year.  They took Foregone taxes to pay for the vastly overpriced DeArmond Mill site, a piece of land they bought without a vote of the people.

Now, to add insult to injury, the CdA City Council just waived ALL of the annexation fees for the  DeArmond Mill site, which would normally have cost $216,000.   The annexation revenue would have enabled the City of CdA to take no tax increase this year.

We, the taxpayers, will not only pay extra for the land they bought without our permission , we will now pay higher taxes to cover the value of the fees, even in the middle of a sluggish local economy and nearly 10% unemployment.

The arrogance is amazing.  CdA City Council member Deanna Goodlander whined that voting for the tax increase is “tough for me and all of us because we're going to get yelled at”.  But they all voted to approve the tax hike anyway.

And they voted to give RAISES to all city employees, none of whom have been laid off or had cut backs to their hours or benefits.

Have you had enough yet?

If so, please join your fellow citizens with common sense at the Tea Party rally this coming Sunday evening at 6pm.  WE, the people, will gather at the State Line Greyhound Park, indoors, to reaffirm our belief in the foundational values of our country.

There will be music and great camaraderie, plus food will be available for purchase, if you’re hungry.

We will talk with each other and listen to two local area speakers and one from the national stage.  First will be a 17 year old young woman who will speak about our patriotic duty and the integrity of our republic.  Second will be a State Representative from Spokane who will address his passionate beliefs in state’s rights and gun owner’s rights.

And our keynote speaker will be Stephen Broden, a minister and Congressional Candidate from Texas.  He has appeared on Fox News and he stood with Glenn Beck and Alveda King at the 8/28 rally at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.

The time to take action is NOW, people, there are no more days or months left for “later”. YOU can make a difference.

The price for the Tea Party rally is FREE.  Are you?

September 12th, 6:00pm

Greyhound Park, Post Falls

Sponsored by Tea Party Patriots of North Idaho:  www.idahotea.org
